Southwest and American are among the hardest-hit airlines, as a rare snow and ice storm in Texas on Wednesday caused second-day cancellations and delays across the country.

Today, 28% of American flights and 17% of Southwest flights were canceled, according to the flight tracking service.informed flight.

That adds up to 2,285 flights canceled as of 2:50 pm. (It's T). This adds to more than 1,900 cancellations yesterday and more than 5,000 delays across the United States.

The Current Travel Chaos Comes As Texas Deals With ItConsequences of an ice stormwhich resulted in road accidents, downed trees and subsequent power outages in parts of the state. The storm front is now spreading across the southern United States.

The three most affected airports currently are Dallas-Fort Worth International (DFW), Dallas Love Field (DAL) and Austin Bergstrom International (AUS).
