If your washing machine has a problem, it may display a code on the screen. Each code indicates a different issue with your device and can often be fixed without calling a technician. Use the following tables to identify the cause of your code and possible solutions.

	Drum cleaning reminder stays on	This is not an error. This is part of a reminder to run a cleaning cycle. The machine works normally without running the DRUM CLEAN cycle, but it is recommended to run the cycle periodically for hygiene reasons.
1C 1E	Problem with the water level sensor	Disconnect the device from the mains and wait 1 minute. Turn the device back on and start a new program.

4C, 4E	water supply issue	Make sure the faucet is fully open and water is flowing. Check that the water pressure is sufficient (min: 0.5 bar, max: 8 bar). The tap water flow should deliver at least 4 liters/minute. Check and clean the mesh filter. Make sure the water inlet hose is not clogged or kinked. 5C, 5E	Problem with water drainage.	Use the emergency hose to drain excess water from the drum. Clean the drain pump filter. Check drain hose and wastewater connection for kinks and obstructions. Make sure the drain hose is not clogged and goes directly to the drain system. The drain hose must be installed at a height of at least 60 cm. E4	The drum load is unbalanced.	This is not an error. The device has detected an uneven load and has stopped rotating for safety reasons. Make sure the device is on a flat, stable surface. Rearrange laundry by adding or removing items to create a more balanced load. Large/heavy individual items such as bath mats and large towels are unlikely to rotate on their own. Add 2/3 additional towels and start another spin cycle.

HE2	Dryer heater not working	The drying section has been switched off for safety reasons as the machine has detected that the temperature is getting too high.

WARM	The device is too hot	This is not an error. This code means the device is too hot. The appliance's fan continues to run until the appliance has cooled down enough to remove the laundry (55°C). After cooling down, the door is unlocked.

LC, LC1, LE, LE1	Low water level detected	Make sure the drain hose level is not below the base of the washer. Check for water leaks. If no water appears, turn off the device, plug it back in and try again.

Buttons, Symbols and IconsClick to Expand

There are many different icons, buttons and icons used on Samsung devices. These must provide information quickly and clearly. The symbols and pictograms that appear on your washing machine are not the same as the codes. Rather than telling you that something is wrong, the icons tell you what your washer is doing and provide additional information. The keys used can look a lot like symbols and often correspond to them. It's helpful to understand what both mean.

clothes +

The shirt with the + symbol indicates that you can pause the cycle to add more clothes. Some washers have an extra wash door that makes adding clothes during a cycle even easier.

Intensive

For heavily soiled clothes. When this light is on, the operating time for each cycle is longer than normal.

child lock

The smiley icon indicates that the child lock has been activated. All buttons on your washing machine are disabled except the power button and dial. Some washing machines also lock the door. door lock

The padlock (no smiley) or key symbol indicates that the door is locked. The washer door will lock when a wash cycle is running or it is unsafe to open the door. Do not attempt to open the door while this symbol is lit.

late start

The clock symbol indicates that the start delay is in use. Delayed start prepares a cycle to start at a specific time.

Time left

The hourglass icon shows how much time is left in the cycle. The number displayed on the screen while the hourglass is displayed is the remaining time.

turn off the signal

The crossed out speaker icon and crossed out bell indicate that the beeps are turned off at the end of a cycle. To turn sounds on or off, press and hold the Jog and Option buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.

Pure cycle / self-clearance

A washing machine drum icon appears after a certain number of washes. The number varies according to the washing machine model. This symbol alerts you that a cleaning cycle must be performed.

Rinse and additional rinse

The handle with sink andNOThe + icon is used to set the download count for a current cycle. You can set the number of rinses up to a maximum of 5, depending on the programme.

the water basinswindlerA + symbol indicates that the extra rinse function has been activated. Extra Rinse adds more time to the program's rinse cycle to remove additives and fragrances from the wash.

vapor

The cloud icon indicates that the steam option has been activated. Steam is used to improve stain removal and use less water when washing colored clothes.

indoor lamp

The light bulb symbol indicates that the washing machine light has been turned on.

turn and not turn

When the No Spin symbol lands on tThe drum does not rotate after the final pump. Use the rotary knob to toggle between rotation settings. To not rotate, press the rotate button until the non-rotate indicator lights.

Blasenbad

The light next to this icon will turn on when the bubble function is on. This feature helps remove a variety of stubborn stains.

pre-wash

This will add a prewash before the main wash.

options

Use to choose between different options for your washing machine.

Temperature

The temperature knob is used to set the temperature for the current cycle.

easy pass

Easy Iron works in conjunction with certain wash cycles to make clothes easier to iron by reducing creases during the spin cycle.

smart check

This is a mode used to get detailed information about problems that occur with your washing machine through the SmartThings app. To enter Smart Check mode, press and hold the Options and Delay End buttons.

smart control

The Wi-Fi icon indicates that your washer is connected to your home Wi-Fi and the SmartThings app. Some models are also compatible with the Smart Home and Smart Washer/Dryer apps.

If you enable Smart Control, you can control your device with the Smart Things app. If you don't have Smart Control enabled, you can monitor the device, but you cannot control it remotely.
